How do I reset the LX375 back to factory defaults.

If you have changed the program password and cannot remember it or the memory has been corrupted and cannot enter programming mode refer to Hardware reset.  If you know the program password (default is 54321*) lift the telephone receiver off hook and dial the program password and wait for a beep. Then you will dial 99 wait for beep and then dial 1 wait for beep.  The unit is now restored back to factory defaults. Hang up the phone to complete the procedure.

Make sure the dialer is not installed backwards.  Refer to LX375 installation diagram

When a caller dials 1-XXX-XXXX I want to use the dialer to dial a switch        access number pause 8 seconds dial a pin number, pause 1 second, and dial the user entered number.

  1. Enter program mode by dialing 54321*
  2. Dial 99 1 and wait for beep. (Defaults Unit)
  3. Dial 02 + switch access number + ##
  4. Dial 04 + pin number + ##
  5. Dial 06 82 3 88 4 81 21 ##
  6. Hang up

All 1+XXX+XXXX calls are screened by default to go over route 1 so no changes to the dialers screening tables are needed.

When I start to program the LX375 I get a busy signal or reorder tone from the local operating company and it seems to disrupt my programming.

The best way to program the LX375 on a live telephone line is to call the line that the dial is installed on from your cell phone or other telephone.  When the phone that the dialer is connected to rings answer it and begin your programming.  Leave the other phone that you called from off hook so you have a silent connection with no interruptions from the local operating company while you program.

I don't understand how the call screening template works. Can you explain further?

The call screening templates contain two main parts, the number and the action code.  The number is what the dialer looks for when the caller is dialing a number.  The action code is what the dialer does when it encounters the matched dialed number.

When you use the action code select route 0-2 or select call restrict it allows you to change the action later on in the dialing sequence.  If you use the force route 0-2 or force restrict action code the dialer will ignore all other entries in the screening template.

Quick example, say you wanted to send all calls starting with 1 over route 1 except you wanted to block 1900 calls and send calls 1208 and 1800 to route 0. You would enter the following.

54321*              :Program Password
00 01 1 ##         :Select route 1 for calls starting with 1
00 32 1900 ##    :Force restrict 1900 calls
00 00 1800 ##    :Select route 0 for 1800 calls
00 00 1208 ##    :Select route 0 for 1208 calls
Hang Up

If you would have entered 00 11 1 ## to force route 1 for calls beginning with 1  in the above entry instead of 00 01 1## all the other entries 1900,1800 and 1208 would have been ignored and sent over route 1.  Hope this helps.
